1953 Triumph Mayflower, Reg. No. PYA 755

First registered: 7 May 1953, Chassis No: TT30918DL, Recorded mileage: 80,600 (as at 28th May 2026)

Supplied new by Binding & Payne of Clevedon. Three owners since new, all from Yatton, the current one for 52 years. Sold with cherished number plate PYA 755 included.

Taxation class: Historic Vehicle, so exempt from vehicle tax, MOT and clean air zone and ULEZ charges.

Re-engined in the 1980s with a Triumph Toledo OHV 1296cc unit, for greater reliability and to enable it to keep up with modern traffic. At the same time, fitted with a brake servo and a stainless steel exhaust.

Sold with original handbook, workshop manual and parts list, and Haynes manual for the Toledo engine.

Work carried out by professional restorer in 2024 included:

  • Engine overhaul.
  • Fitting new wiring harness.
  • Replacement of all brake cylinders and hoses.
  • Structural welding to sills.

At the same time a new battery and four new tyres were fitted.

The private local (North Somerset) vendor also possesses a large quantity of parts and period accessories for the car, gathered over many decades, some of which are hard to find. They include nearly everything that would be needed to complete the restoration of the car. The vendor has indicated that they are willing to discuss the private sale of these with the successful purchaser.
