Art Deco green tourmaline and diamond cluster ring, the rectangular mixed cut tourmaline measuring approx 5.6mm x 4.2mm x 3.0mm, rubover set with millegrain edging, twelve old cut diamond surround, total diamond weight approx 1.0 carats, assessed clarities SI-I1, pavé set, the rectangular head measuring approx 15mm x 13mm, tapered shoulders, ring size L, white metal assessed as unmarked platinum, weight 3.8g gross approx
Believed to have previously formed part of the Estate of Mrs Simpson, wife of Captain John F. Simpson, Staff Captain of HMS Lusitania (and Captain of the Verentin). He died on board the latter vessel in 1923. From the Estate of this wife, through the family by descent.
