Stourhead (National Trust) has a number of paintings of the sitters depicted indpendently, including a work by Arthur Pond (London c.1701 – Rome 1758), signed and dated 'Pond pinxit 1757'.
Susanna Hoare, Countess of Ailesbury (1732 - 1783) was the daughter of Henry Hoare II (1705-1785) and Susan Colt, his second wife. She married, firstly, Charles, Viscount Dungarvan, in 1753, and secondly, in 1761, Thomas, Lord Bruce, created the 1st Earl of Ailesbury.
