Medal groups can fetch far beyond the 'standard' World war I and II baselines with the addition of high rank, rare regiment or additional citations for bravery, together with any provenance, photographs and records. Clevedon Salerooms can undertake additional research and consultancy at no additional cost.

A recent highlight for us was the sale of The Most Exalted Order of the Star of India, K.C.S.I., Knight Commander’s set of insignia, which came from a private collection, achieving £12,500 at auction.

Although Firearms regulations have altered the collecting field, antique pieces are still coveted - witness the £6,000 recently paid for a fine case pair of 19th-century pistols.

Other weapons including swords, bayonets, and daggers, command impressive prices. Recently, we sold a Japanese Katana 'Surrender Sword' for a staggering £920.
