Bristol and the South West has a thriving cultural scene which dates back centuries. Clevedon Salerooms have had great success over the years selling local paintings and prints, including the Barkers of Bath, ‘1904 Arts’, Beryl Cook, and Banksy!
Recently, we were proud to host an exclusive exhibition in Clifton, Bristol, showcasing the work of the late Barrington Tabb, which we are selling on behalf of the family.
Clevedon Salerooms' Mark Huddleston studied History of Art at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and has almost twenty-five years' experience of the national art market. Undertaking further research and consultation where necessary, recent successes include a landscape painting initially believed to have been English School, but fully researched and identified as a work by the sought-after Chinese artist Teng-Hiok Chiu. An initial expectation of low hundreds turned into £3,500, with a resulting happy vendor.
Other notable paintings and prints we have sold include those by Salvador Dali, Doris Hatt, L.S. Lowry, Renoir, and more.
