Edward VII silver oval tray with scroll and shell moulded handles and a conforming raised border, having engraved decoration and standing on four cast feet, sponsors mark indistinct, Birmingham 1903, 4.1kg approx
Provenance - The Van Trump family. The Van Trump (Tromp) family had Naval connections in the 17th Century. Henry "Harry" Van Trump (occasionally named "Van Tromp") was killed in action during the Great War on 23rd May 1916 at Vimy Ridge aged 34. His father, Henry Joseph Van Trump, was Mayor of Taunton from 1916-20 and ran the Tonevale Manufacturing Company, a shirt and collar factory on St Augustine Street.

As we cautiously reopen to the public, we want to keep staff and customers alike as safe as possible.

Wednesdays before sale will now be viewable without appointment 10am till 5pm.

Inspection of items in or behind our cabinets will remain strictly on a first come, first served basis - as social distancing and numbers allow. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
