Literature: McGrath, John and Barton, Mark, British Swords and Swordsmanship, Seaforth Publishing, 2013, pp. 123-124, 17th November 1811 records "Action with French lugger, Dungeness. Captain Peter Buisey Cow [not Con] Naval Transport Chatham £50 Sword. Captain Cow was a Merchant Navy Captain". The surname may have been mistranscribed from handwritten documents.
