Group of Chinese silk garments and a doll

Group of Chinese silk embroidered items, late Qing dynasty, comprising a small pair of child's shoes with block heels, decorated with peacocks on fenghuang on a lilac ground, 7.5cm toe to heel x 14cm high; another lower pair, 11.8cm toe to heel x 6.5cm high; a larger pair of flat shoes, 23cm long, a later silk double-ended pouch containing five 'coins', and a double gourd-shaped scent bottle pouch, 14cm high, together with an unframed silk panel worked with butterflies amidst flowers and foliage, on paper backing, 32cm x 18cm, and a Chinese doll, early 20th century, wearing a tasselled hat, an orange silk knee-length jacket and embroidered shoes, 45cm high (7)

The current owner's grandmother, Edith Bunting (nee Walker) travelled to China around 1898 as assistant to a Methodist missionary (ex. inf. vendor).
