Seiko - 'Captain Willard' stainless steel divers bracelet watch, ref. 6105-8110, circa 1974, the black dial with luminous filled square hour markers, date aperture at the third hour, luminous filled hands, and sweeping seconds, bi-directional black bezel, unsigned crown, screw-down case back with reference number and serial number '400728', signed calibre 6105B, 17 jewels automatic movement, 44mm diameter (ex. crown), on a Seiko stainless steel tapering bracelet with deployant clasp
The Willard got its name from the 1979 American epic war film Apocalypse Now. It was worn by the main protagonist, Captain Benjamin Willard, played by Martin Sheen. This watch model was chosen for Sheen's character due to its popularity amongst US servicemen at the time. The film undoubtedly helped the 6105-8110 to be synonymous with the Vietnam War.
