Large African Ashanti (Asante) painted wood 'Akuaba' fertility figure, Mali or Ghana, the typical 'moon' face with pierced cresting, raised eyebrows, almond-shaped eyes, long nose and pursed mouth, the long tubular body with bead necklace over stylised outstretched arms and bare breasts, on domed woven wicker base, the whole retaining much original red, blue, green and yellow pigment, with good patina, 94cm high
