Monochrome photograph of Lord Kitchener, wearing colonial uniform, inscribed in ink lower right 'Herbert Kitchener / Sirdar / 2nd Sept. 1898', additionally stamped 'DÉPOSÉ' to lower right corner, 23cm x 16cm, the backing card printed 'G. Lekegian & Co., Caire' [Cairo], 29cm x 21cm overall, unframed;
Together with a collection of letters from Lord Kitchener to Colonel William Staveley Gordon (sometimes referred to as 'Monkey') and Mrs Gordon, passed by descent through a branch of the Gordon family, comprising:
