Carlisle from the time of leaving England till my return', photographs, etc.
Cyril Robert Bannister was born on the 14th April 1898 in Newbury, Berkshire. He later moved to Bristol and lived at 55 Claremont Road, Bishopston. This collection has been consigned by his grandson.
During his distinguished naval career he took part in the Battle of Jutland, and possibly the Atlantic Convoys. Certificate of service reference ships to include Delhi, Victory, Carlisle, Egmont, Birmingham, Mercury, etc.
