Chinese silk 'dragon' robe, late Qing dynasty, the front worked with a large central dragon in gold thread on a midnight blue ground, two further dragons to the shoulders and a further two above the wave-decorated hem, the neck and short sleeves both with floral frieze bands, the latter capped in white silk with gilt dragon decoration, the reverse of conforming design, turquoise silk-lined interior, approximately 70cm across chest x 111.5cm neck to hem x 142cm across shoulders (fully extended)
