Good Chinese carved hongmu vitrine or display cabinet, late Qing dynasty circa 1880, of trapezoidal section, with pierced and well-carved cresting of two opposed fenghuang or phoenix birds amidst foliate scrollwork, smaller birds to the canted sides, flanking pomegranates atop pedestal carved with leaves and berries, the conforming glazed door enclosing three shelves, the glazed side panels between columns of scaly dragons, raised on pierced apron and four claw and ball feet headed by taotie masks, 92cm x 37cm x 206.5cm high
