Set of twenty-one early 20th century George II Irish-style inlaid mahogany chairs, ex Tyntesfield

Impressive set of twenty one early 20th century George II Irish style inlaid mahogany chairs, formerly visitor seating at Tyntesfield, the local National Trust property at Wraxall near Bristol, each of open armchair or 'carver' design, inlaid to the foliage-carved vase splat in the Killarney tradition with an ebonised and boxwood oval patera of the Holbein Gate, Whitehall, between 'goose wing' open arms with foliate terminals on studded oxblood rexine-covered seat, the cabriole front supports headed by foliate knees and terminating in claw and ball feet, each chair 67cm across arms / 55cm wide to seat front x 111cm high (21)

These chairs are being sold by the National Trust. They were used as period appropriate staff and visitor seating and are not part of the historic collection. Monies raised from the sale will support the care of collections.
