George III treen spinning wheel with Royal provenance, the 18.5cm diameter wheel over work drawers, one containing a hand written note 'This spinning wheel was made by order of Queen Charlotte, wife of George III for the Marchioness of Buckingham: given by her to Mrs Simcoe the wife of General Simcoe, first Governor of Upper Canada. On leaving Canada Mrs Simcoe gave the spinning wheel to Mrs McGill. Aunt of Mrs Stephen Heward', 122cm high
